Entry to Years 8-10

Entry into Years 8 and 9

Applications for admission into Years 8 & 9 are handled on behalf of the Governing Body by Buckinghamshire Council as part of its Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme. If you are interested in making an application, full details can be found by visiting the Buckinghamshire Council’s website.

The application process for Years 8 & 9 entry is available on the Buckinghamshire Council website.

The test for entry is computer based and will last approx. 75 minutes, including time for the examples and instructions. This is a single test, with no breaks. The test will assess verbal ability, numerical ability and non-verbal ability. A link to practice materials will be sent out prior to the testing date.

Please note: Qualification under testing will be deemed to remain current until the end of Year 9, after which a new application for admission must be made (including testing) under the Late Transfer procedure for Year 10.

We are currently accepting applications for immediate entry into Year 10 for 2025. Please email [email protected] for more information.

Year 10 Late Transfer Admission Testing - September 2026

We invite applications for girls seeking admission into Year 10 at the start of the next academic year (September 2026) to sit tests in our Annual Testing Round.

Key Information
  • This testing is organised jointly with Aylesbury Grammar School and will take place on the same day as testing for Years 8 and 9 applicants.
  • Application for testing must be made directly to Aylesbury High School via the dedicated online form.
  • Please Note: Sitting the test does not guarantee a place. Testing allows the school to establish a waiting list of qualified students for the year group, should a place become available.
